To meet the logistics demand for perishable fruits, the railway authority has mobilized over 1,000 refrigerated containers and prioritized the allocation of transport capacity. Utilizing the "Thailand-Laos Express" international freight trains specially operated via the China-Laos Railway, the transportation time from Kunming, China, to Vientiane, Laos, is reduced to just 26 hours.
With a large quantity of Southeast Asian fruits being listed for sale, the import and export transportation volume of fruits and vegetables at the Mohan Railway Port in Yunnan has reached its peak, maintaining an average daily transportation volume of over 1,500 tons. The railway authority has intensified the operation of "Thailand-Laos Express" cold chain trains, increasing the daily number of trains from the previous 1.5 to 3, reaching up to 4 trains during peak periods.
From January to April this year, the China-Laos Railway transported 6.55 million tons of goods, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%, with cross-border goods exceeding 1.8 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.1%.
