Since the beginning of this year, multiple railway projects have entered the final stages of construction and are expected to open for operation within the year.
The Yangtze River Delta railway infrastructure investment is set to reach a historic high this year. Once these high speed railways are operational, they will further enhance the regional railway network structure, aiding the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
In the Sichuan-Chongqing area, railway construction continues to advance with high quality. On May 11, the Desheng Tunnel, a key project on the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway, was completed, creating favorable conditions for the opening of the Zhenjiangguan-Huangshengguan section. The Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway's Chongqing-Yibin section has entered the final stages of track adjustment and station building construction, and upon completion, it will strengthen the connection between the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and central Yunnan. The Bazhong-Nanchong High Speed Railway, connecting the old revolutionary base areas of Bazhong and Nanchong in northeastern Sichuan, has begun trial operations.
Several lines north and south of the Great Wall are nearing completion. The Lanzhou-Zhangye High Speed Railway's Lanzhou-Wuwei section is about to finish trial operations, with opening day imminent. The Baotou-Yinchuan High Speed Railway's Huinongnan-Yinchuan section is progressing well in static acceptance, with integrated testing and commissioning to follow. The Jining-Datong-Yuanping High Speed Railway has started track laying along its entire length, aiming to be ready for operation by the end of the year.
On the Shandong Peninsula, the Weifang-Yantai High Speed Railway's connection to the existing line is speeding up, soon entering the static acceptance phase. The Rizhao-Lankao High Speed Railway's Zhuangzhai-Lankaonan section is undergoing integrated testing and commissioning at the Shandong-Henan boundary. This crucial segment of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high speed railway network is set to achieve full line operation. In Guangxi, the main structure of the new station buildings on the Nanning-Shenzhen High Speed Railway's Nanning-Yulin section is complete, with interior and exterior finishing works in the final stages. Additionally, the Jingmen-Jingzhou High Speed Railway in Hubei and the Meizhou-Longchuan High Speed Railway in Guangdong have both completed track laying, laying a solid foundation for the early commencement of services.
